A bit of history
Butch Bouwer established Vital Steel Projects cc. in 1995 as a small company doing fabrication and erection of structural steel. From humble beginnings Vital Steel has grown in leaps and bounds over the past 24 years both in South Africa, and in Sub Saharan Africa.
We started work from a small factory in Elsburg near Germiston, Gauteng and then in 2000 moved to premises in Atlas Rd Boksburg. In 2004 we moved to a large factory in Commissioner Street, Boksburg. In 2007 we purchased our own premises at 19 Spanner Rd, Clayville, Olifantsfontein, where we were based until 2016.
We have now built our own factory from scratch at 32 Axel Drive, Clayville Olifantsfontein which is ideally situated near to two major highways and is only 20km from OR Tambo international Airport.
Vital Steel Project’s primary focus is to meet all our client’s requirements. We constantly strive to improve our service and product quality.
Our aim is to be profitable, thereby improving the wealth and future of our employees. In the process we improve the skills of our people through training and skills transfer.
The Health and Safety of our team is paramount, and training and monitoring is constant. Environmental control is greatly important to us and we do everything we can to enrich our community, country and environment by being a socially responsible operation.
We believe South Africa is an integral part of Africa and we can help improve many of our partner’s business expansion and we look forward to continued growth in the industry.
